Canadian Barge Builders, Our Barges
Standard and Custom Size Barges
Our Canadian made sectional barges are designed to operate on rivers, canals, sounds, bays, and inland lakes. Our barges can be used as heavy equipment and materials platforms, floating bridges and docks, marsh mats and custom applications to suit your needs. They are fabricated in our shop by our professional team using state of the art robotic welders to ensure a continuous uniform weld. Our standard barge comes in 10-foot widths and 20 or 40-foot lengths. They are also available in a heavy-duty design for larger jobs that require a larger payload. These barges are easily transported. Multiple barges can be joined, using our pinning system, to form the size and configuration you require for your project. Custom barges are also available. Please call for price and availability.

Heavy Duty Crane Barge
Our HEAVY-DUTY barge has a depth of 7′ instead of 5′. This extra depth provides a significantly stronger platform as well as additional free board. This extra strength and free board may be necessary for heavier lifts or when barges are used in surf or choppy waters. Like our regular barges, the heavy-duty barge is available in lengths of two, three, and four barge-widths. Call 1-866-227-4340 for pricing.

All of our barges use the same pinning system so they are easily compatible with one another!
Precisely aligned connection holes assure a solid connection after just two pins being installed. The upper heads on the pins are also positioned to support a 2×4 flush with the deck, hiding the connection. Our unique system is based on the principle of many simple connections spaced close together. Following this principle assures that stress is distributed evenly throughout the entire connection so that a single pin cannot become a ‘critical stress point’ (all holes should always be pinned before beginning a project to insure proper stress distribution).
Barge Options
RAKE SECTIONS
A rake barge has an angled bow to provide less resistance when being pushed and is usually placed at the head of the tow.
INTERNAL SPUDS
Internal spudwells go through the deck of the barge and are used to anchor it in place while working. We offer a variety of options for internal spuds.
EXTERNAL SPUDS
External spudwells are used to anchor the barge in place while working. The good thing about external spudwells are that they can be moved anywhere on the out side of the barge and the pin into the existing connecting angle that pins the barges together. We offer a variety of options for external spuds.
LADDERS
We can build custom ladders to pin on to the barges for access in and out of the water.
RAILINGS
Railings can be added to the barges or boats for a more secure work place. They can be welded directly to the barge and be permanent or they can also be built to pin into the barges with the connecting angle.
RAMPS
Ramps can be added to the barge for loading and unloading equipment and material on the barge. We can build any size ramp that can attached to the barge or just be place on the barge. We can also build the ramps to be winched up by hydraulics or by hand.
HOPPER BOXES
We can build custom hopper barges made to haul off debris, silt or mud. We can build an actual hopper barge or we can add bull rails to a barge to function as a hopper barge.
KEVELS / BITS
Kevels come in a wide variety of sizes and styles to keep your vessel secure.
CENTER LIFTING SHACKLE
A single shackle on the top center of the barge to speed up the unloading and loading time.
